Thailand, Laos, Cambodia - thoughts on travel route and time?

I will arrive in Bangkok around 6 am on 10/21 and hope to use the Discovery Pass to head straight to Luang Prabang for about 4/5 days. From there I plan to fly down to Angkor Wat for about 4 days. From Angkor Wat I would like to spend a few days - maybe 3 or 4 - in Phuket on a quiet beach (if possible), and end my trip with 4 or 5 days in Bangkok, scheduled to depart at around midnight o 11/8. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance!

The itinerary sounds good. Have you emailed Bangkok Air yet with your proposed itinerary? Choose your flights from their schedule and see what they can do. As I remember it, the LP-SR flights are not every day of the week, so start by getting your air arrangements made.

You'll likely hit a quiet time in Phuket as the weather will just be shifting from the monsoons to a drier time. Early November is transitional.

I haven't contaced Bangkok Air yet. I would like to hit these 4 places but am flexible with the order. Actually, I would rather replace Phuket with Samuit or a less touristy beach, but I would rather not have to backtrack to do that. Thanks for your advice. I will contact Bangkok Air soon.

By backtrack (to get to the beach), do you mean fly though Bangkok? If that's what you mean, you will need to go through Bangkok to get to Phuket or Koh Samui or Hua Hin. No non-stop flights from Siem Reap to any of the beaches.

don't wait to contact bkk air as the arrangements and payment can often take a few weeks....i had to pay by check... it can only be done outside asia btw...

i think the schedule is great as you have written it...

the only thing i might do differently is to stay overnight on day one in bkk to avoid any possible problems with delays in your flights...
