I like Nok Air and they fly out of the old Bangkok airport, Don Muaeng. Other airlines that fly to Phuket from DMK (Don Muaeng) are Air Asia, Thai Smile, Orient Thai and they all sell one way ticket at no surcharge.
If you want or need to fly from the main airport then there are Thai Airways and Bangkok Airways.

I too liked going via DMK airport, very easy to navigate and a (slightly) quicker trip into town. use the airline with the thing that is most important to you I:E price/Schedule etc as they are all fairly similar (excpet the Main carriers of course)

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
LancasterLad, what do you mean "
Choose our final Phuket destination carefully.
Depending on that, a knowledge of spoken Russian might be helpful, as would a healthily loaded wallet."

I don't mind being ignored, it's not my problem, or me that needs to be careful.
The facts remain that Phuket is more expensive for tourists than other resorts in Thailand, and that there are more Russian [marmite] bods there than anywhere else in Thailand.
