Thailand & Cambodia November 2013 HELP with Itinerary needed!!!

Jump to last reply

Myself partner and sister are travelling to Aisa 5th Nov 13. None of us have being before and we plan on being there for just under 4 wks of travel – flying out of Bankgok 30/11/13 to Ireland.
My partner and I leave Perth and arrive to Phuket 06/11 and my sister is flying from Ireland and will also meet us there or around Phuket- as none of us have travelled Asia before we are relying on advice from previous travellers!
Firstly as we are travelling in Nov - we have being advised not to travel the Gulf of Thailand incl Ko Samui, Ko Tao, Ko Chang District, Phu Quoc Due to the wet/monsoon season – Can anybody advise us if we will be ok to travel to any of these districts or again if we should avoid? Also advised to avoid the South?? There is a Full moon party the 19th Nov in Ko Pan Yang – can anyone recommend if travel to here will be okay considering its wet season!!
Secondly flying into Phuket we plan on maybe staying in a nice hotel/resort for couple of days before attempting some of the West Coast of Thailand islands, we have being advised the West Coast will be the best this time of year, has anyone done the west coast islands and if so any recommendations on nicest/unspoilt islands? We are all between 29-34 and are looking for lively(ish) but also nice relaxing beaches – beach huts accommodation etc!
We plan leaving Phuket after completing some or most of the west coast area and then we are trying to also fit in time for Cambodia, Laos or Vietnam, can anyone advise us what route would be best from Phuket to these other Countries or if you feel we would not have enough time in 4weeks to complete all of this?? We definitely wish to do Cambodia if have to rule out other destinations. Any recommendations!!!
As mentioned above we would like to fit in Koh Pan Yang for 19/11/13 so baring this in mind would be best completing Cambodia etc before this or after and spend rest of our time between Cambodia and flying back to Bangkok seeing Chang Mai (north Thailand) and then catching are departing flight from Bangkok on 30/11/13 – any advice is hugely appreciated!!
Also if we decide to travel to Cambodia and back to Koh Pan Yang by 19th can we get transport/flight/boat from Cambodia back to Koh Pan Yang??
Are we missing any good spots in the areas we can visit this time of year weather wise – and if you believe weather will be okay to travel within The Gulf of Thailand – any suggestions on islands or areas would be so much help!!
We have yet to work out our full food and accommodation Budget per day but are hopeful we wont have to slum in every destination and maybe seek the odd nice hotel/resort or beach accom!!! Does anyone have any accommodation recommendations?
Also we have being advised by friends not to book acccom as the first few wks in Nov is generally quieter/cheaper then the end of month (beginning of tourist season) and to just arrive at different accommodations and ‘haggle’ for the right room/price– would anyone else recommend this or do you believe pre-booking our itinerary is the best option.
Travel wise between the islands and other countries (incl. flights) I would like to pre-book as soon as we receive any of your kind info! We were advised AerAsia would be best for flying back and forth between West Thailand and Cambodia and Bangkok – is this correct??!
All advice or any advice is so grateful – as we are now discovering we are pretty limited with the weather on where to visit but also pretty clueless as not being there before!!

Thanks so much and we look forward to any feedback
Many thanks
E
