I have photographed the terraced rice fields of Yunnan province in China. They are truly amazing, and on a monumental scale. There were hundreds of photographers from china and surrounding countries, but very few visitors from the west. To help with planning and to provide information on what to expect I have written an illustrated travel report at

As they are eye catching for nature lovers, they also plays a good roll in soil erosion. These Terraced rice fields are popular all over the world. Almost every south Asian country use the same procedure of growing crops!
