Suica vs Pasmo

Jump to last reply

I was confused even before the two passes became interchangeable, so I'm hoping someone can help! We plan to arrive at NRT and be in Tokyo (5 days) with day trip to Takaosan and maybe other places TBD, Hiroshima/Miyajima 2 days, Kyoto 3 days, then back to Tokyo 2 days. Return to NRT will likely be by bus.

Does it matter which type of card to get now that they are interchangeable? From what I've seen, they can be used on subways, buses and trains within a city/region. But I think there are exceptions, e.g., not Kyoto buses?

Thanks...any help will be very much appreciated!
