Suggestions for plan B?: a week in Thailand in early November

Jump to last reply

We still very much hope to spend six nights in Kathmandu Valley in early November, but have been urged to develop a plan B if this is not feasible. Since we are already landing in Bangkok late at night on Sunday November 1, what seems to make most sense is to spend
the week in Thailand, possibly split between Bangkok and some other place. We will be going on to Bhutan on November 8 and spending three nights in Bangkok at the end of that trip--from Tues Nov24, leaving Friday night November 27 for San Francisco. One possibility would be to spend Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights in Bangkok, then Wed, Thurs, Fri
in___________before spending Saturday night at a hotel near the airport for an early Sunday morning flight to Paro.

Suggestions? I haven't researched Thailand at all yet,but what seems to make intuitive sense is to choose one place to stay not too far from Bangkok, perhaps a small city or even a town, someplace less overwhelming than Bangkok that would give us a sense of the culture.

Thanks for the help.
