Sri Lanka/ would like to hire driver/guide
I am headed to Sri Lanka for the first time in the middle of July, we would like to hire a driver/guide does anyone have any suggestions or a web site they could recommend.
I have done extensive searches and have used the Sri Lanka tour guide site but there is very little available for information.
Many thanks in advance

We used Boutique Sri Lanka to book our driver and our hotels. We were very happy with their service. Using an agency to book gives you some protections you wouldn't have with an individual driver. If the car is problematic, the agency will trade for a different car within 24 hours. Likewise, if the driver is not a good fit for you, again, the agency will give you a new driver. I have friends who had to change both the vehicle and the driver on their trip.

We used Rammuni and his driver - if you need a big vehicle to haul you and your stuff, he is your man:

He can arrange hotels for you also.
Click on my name for our trip report. He is still active and we have been in touch within the past year.

We too used Rammuni after reading Craigs report. First class. We would certainly use him again.

I would also like to send a private message to lhgreenacres to find out more about Sri Lanka. I cannot find your postings on Trip Advisor, so I cannot send you a message.
Please email me at [email protected]. Thanks.

We used Reddot for our trip last year and were not happy. However, a week or so into our trip our car broke down and we were provided with a new car and driver. The new driver, Namunu, was absolutely excellent and couldn't do enough for us. He spoke excellent English, was a lot more knowledgeable (and enthusiatic!) than our previous guide and is a semi pro photograqpher and so was able you give some excellent tips on location and timing for photos. He normally, works for Jetwing, the Sril Lanka high end tour operator but has his own car and also does freelance work. His email is [email protected]
