Sri Lanka May

Jump to last reply

I'm hoping for some help! going to Sri Lanka first two weeks of May and I'm in a predicament as to a route.

would like to do a safari and see some elephants! Also would like to visit Hill country - take the train to Ella. and factor in some beach time. However struggling to come up with a logical route which also takes weather into consideration. Have read conflicting things about weather in hill country this time of year. Also had intitially thought of going across hill country to arugam bay then heading to Gal Oya national park but cant find much about this park - so not sure if this means its not v accessible or theres less likelihood of seeing animals there? Had considered going to the parks in the north Minneriya/ Kaudulla but don't know if this is that practical if want to do hill country ?!

thanks in advance,

Helen
