Hi.
My wife and I will be visiting the Maldives and India this October/November. In between the two places we would like to stop in Sri Lanka for 4 nights in late October.
I anticipate we will be seeking some wildlife/nature activities in Sri Lanka and will be flying into Colombo.
Any ideas on what we could try in this short time period?
Thanks for your input.

You could do Yala for 3 nights - it is on the opposite side of the island from the airport so you might have to spend an overnight in between, depending on when your flights arrive and depart.
I'd just go to Tea Trails and let them love you.
The only wildlife there, however, will be the other guests.

There are some also nature sites around Kandy - its a bit of a drive, but worth it for sure.
Also, not sure if you are interested in architecture, the sites of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa are amazing. They will also make an interesting comparison to what you will see in India.
Yala is the place for wildlife. But if you want some combination of wildlife and historic Buddhist sites, go to Polonnaruwa and the Dambullla cave temples and visit one or more wildlife parks in the area. We saw a herd of wild elephants at the park we visited.
