Hi,
I have a free day and wondered about a day's activity in or near Khatmandu that I could do, and get back by about 5. I'm looking for something other than the regular tourist sights in Khatmandu (which I will be seeing later).
Thank you...

Consider the Changu Narayan temple. It's in the eastern part of the valley near Bhaktapur. There are various ways to get there that involve some pleasant walking. Not many tourists go there, we were the the only ones the day my friend and I walked out there.
If the weather is clear you could have stellar views of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal. We lucked out there too.
Thanks for the suggestion!
