I've been enjoying reading the "Wowed" and "Not Wowed" list as it has given me some more travel ideas.
I was wondering what are six places, that you have NOT been to yet, but are on your MUST-SEE or really Want-to-See list.
Most of us, on this forum, have been to a lot of places and over many decades. But, there are still some places that we haven't made it to yet, but need to maybe try harder to get to. Smiles.
My six places would be:
1) Venice, Italy (which I'll do this year.)
2) Seville, Spain ( I have a passion for flamenco dance)
3) Senegal
4) Bhutan
5) Egypt
6) Sri Lanka
Happy Travels!

Bob, my friend who came with me to my first Boston GTG, (remember the posse of 2) has been vacationing in Croatia for years. His wife, of more than a decade, is Italian and he said the Italians have been vacationing there for quite some time.
They started going shortly after they got married. They'll probably be going more as he will be retiring early (55) at the end of this month and moving to the condo that he bought about 5 years ago. The condo is near Venice which is why I will finally get to see Venice! They've been commuting back and forth to each other their entire marriage. He lives on the east coast and she in Italy. Happy Travels!
Only six? Well, I guess these are top of the (long) list:
Central Asia - all of the 'stans, but especially the mountains in Kyrgystan and Tajikistan, and Bukhara and Samarkand
Tibet - one way by train, and perhaps one way overland from -
Nepal - I've been to Bhutan, but not Nepal
Taiwan - I've been to China three times, but I want especially to see the museum in Taipei
Peru and Bolivia - Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca
Iran - I'd like to add it to the Central Asia trip, but I hate the idea of having to cover up all the time
Interesting reading on a slow forum day. Smiles. Now, Im going to get off of this computer and go outside. It's going to be around 75 degrees today. Smiles. Happy Travels!
So many places, so little time...
1. Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca
2. St. Petersberg
3. India, especially places like Assam and Kashmir
4. Syria
A number of places I want to visit are currently war zones, so they may not be for this lifetime:
5. Afghanistan and Pakistan
6. Iran and Iraq
Like others, I could go on and on...

And I don't know where to put Burma... I really want to go there, but have such strong feelings about the junta I have not gone.
Laos
Cambodia
Vietnam
Costa Rica
Brazil (Muffin went to the Carnivale a few years ago and stayed at the Copacobana palace and went to the ball and said it was AMAZING)
Panama canal
Hoping to do Vietnam this year!!! (Muffin permitting)
agree with Kathie re Burma also
I agree, it's hard to limit it to six, but here's my list:

1. Egypt (leaving in just over three weeks!)
2. China
3. Bhutan
4. India
5. Rwanda (or Uganda) for gorilla tracking, together with a safari in Tanzania
6. Turkey
And to those who listed Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca - good choice! My trip there with my daughter in October 2007 ranked right up there with the Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia trip that so many of you helped me plan a few years ago. My trip report is being quoted in the new Fodor's Peru guide.
Karen
Rwanda- That sounds quite interesting. I've thought of it,too. Quite a few well-known folks have bought property there. Quincy Jones has a big piece of land on which he's to build a house.
There are some very nice townhouses that have been built and it's been said that it's a good place for people in the music industry as the music there is quite interesting. It's also very inexpensive to buy a place to live. The country is going through a sort of renaissance. Happy Travels!
i should have said we are knocking off two this year, so i did not list them : going to argentina and paraguay in april and in october going to south africa, with a stop in england on the way home...
Good thread, Guen.
My choices are:
1. Rajasthan...in more detail (We have been to India many times, but now I really want to go for adventure).
2. Dordogne in SW France
3.Bali
4.Luang Prabang & Vietnam
5.Sri Lanka
6. St. Petersburg
And more....
rhkkmk...Bob, when you go to Croatia, I recommend going to Plitvice park. It's a beautiful series of 16+ waterfalls over 2 miles long.
And yes, Guen, Italians vacation in Croatia a lot.(Italian and Croatian kings have swapped territory back and forth over time, so there is a strong Italian connection there)
1. India

2. Africa on Safari (not sure which countries yet)
3. Egypt and Jordan
4. Bhutan
5. Argentina
6. Peru
I would have added Vietnam, but we are going in July.
There are also a lot of "must-see in a lifetime" places out there where I've already been and happily return to again and again; Italy, France, Spain, Thailand and Cambodia for example.
Good one Guenmai-
China-coming up this year
Vietnam
Australia
Brazil
Isreal
Egypt
Brazil is fabulous and a trip to the Bahia region, up north is a must. Salvador, in Bahia is beautiful as is the island called, "Taparica?". You just go to the boat harbor in Salvador, and take the one hour ferry over to it. When you get there, take a taxi to the beach. There's a restaurant where I had some of the best fresh lobster that I've ever had. A table and 4 chairs were set up in the sand and whatever the fisherman brought in is what we ate. Priceless.
And there were local kids riding their horses bareback on the beach. Just a real relaxing few hours over on the island. Happy Travels!
1.Argentina + Iguazu Falls+Patagonia
2.Tanzania
3. Bhutan
4. S Africa
5. New Zealand
6. Borneo
So many more......
Guen, when you get ready to go to Venice email me and I'll give you the email address to a great hotel room to stay in Venezia. It's Mother Superiors old room in an redone 400 year old convent
Aloha!
Great question Guenmai!
Limiting my "must visit" list to just six, I would include:
Cape Town, South Africa
Peru
India/Sri Lanka
Maldives
New Zealand
Mali (would love to say I've been to Timbuktu!)
Gpanda-I just dug up my old journal and I was in Bahia in August of 2003. It doesn't seem that many years ago. Anyhow the name of the island is: "Itaparica" and the ferry fare was 2.85 Real back then (US$1.01). The exchange rate back then was 2.80 Real to 1 US dollar.
I stayed at the Bahia Othon Palace Hotel, Avenue Presidente Vargas 2456, Onide Beach. (This is in Salvador, Bahia).
I REALLY liked the hotel and although I had booked a standard room, they upgraded me to the top floor , after I asked to be put on a high floor. They sent me to the executive floor, and at no additional cost. I paid US$99.00 a night. My room was large and beautiful and the ocean view spectacular. I had room 1220.
Plus, there were only two other rooms occupied on the entire floor. The view, from the private dining room, overlooking the ocean, was spectacular! It was great to have that private dining area, attached to that floor only. It was very quiet and relaxing and many mornings I had the whole restaurant and lounging area to myself.
Oh, I just noticed, in my journal, that at the restaurant on Iltaparica, we got 3 lobsters, a whole fish, rice, bread, potato chips, and drinks for 69,95 Real (US$24.98 then). That fed three adults and a child. I went with one of my best friends, her husband, and small child. She's married to a man who happens to be from that area. And she's been there many times, even way before she knew him, back when she'd travel there alone.
That was the only restaurant, on the island. Maybe things have changed now, I don't know.
Another good place to eat, in Salvador, is the restaurant inside the Sol Victoria Marina Hotel. Actually, we were going to the Thai restaurant at the same hotel. It's really interesting in that to get to the Thai restaurant, you have to board one of those big glass bubble transporters that's attached to wires and then you glide over the ocean..incredible view...and when it lands, you're at the Thai restaurant right on the water. we ended up just having drinks there as they weren't open for food.
So, we got back into the huge glass, bubble transporter and ascended to very high heights to be lifted back up to the landing of that hotel at the top of the hill. We decided to just eat at the restaurant at the top of the hill. We ate outside on the patio and the food was delicious. I had a delicious salmon dinner with almond sauce for 24.50 Real (US$9.60).
Here's another restaurant, but in the colonial part of the city of Salvador, Bahia. My friends have eaten here for years and locals would be walking down the street, peep into the restaurant and spot my friends and come a running to greet and hug them. They go to Salvador, usually every other year, but sometimes more often, and always in August.
The restaurant is: Restaurant Encontro dos Artistas
Rua Francisco Muniz Baretto 13/15
Pelourinho
CEP:40.025.100
Phone: 321-1721
We had a whole fish and with potatoes, rice, fries, salad, beer, and 4 sodas. My portion of the bill was 20 Real (US$7.14). We again were three adults and a small child. Happy Travels!
Thanks HT- But I won't need a hotel since my friend bought a condo, outside of Venice, and is flying there, from the East Coast, to meet me so that I can stay with him and his wife. She lives in their new condo year round. He bought it before the building was built, by a plan, and then waited some years until the project has been finished. The condo is only 30 minutes away, by car, outside of Venice. Happy Travels!
With all of these interesting places, it's too bad we couldn't have some international GTGs ,like maybe plan a different one, in a different country every 3 years and see who would/could show up. Buenos Aires would be one great GTG spot. And looking at this list, there's a multiple interest in Sri Lanka. Happy Travels!
Great thread:
1. Antartica (my last continent)
2. Bali
3. Thailand
4. Galapagos Islands
5. Egypt
6. New Zealand
Machu Pichu/Galapagos
Argentina/Iguazu Falls/Chile
South Africa/Botswana
China
Egypt/Israel/Jordan
Australia/New Zealand
I need to retire to do all of these.
That list is certainly longer than 6, but if I have to narrow it down, I'll have to order it in likelihood of our future travel plans:
1) Bali (going in May 2010)
2) Bhutan
3) India
4) Burma
5) Seychelles
6) Lijiang, China
In no particular order, places I want to experience:
1. Kamakura (Will visit in April)
2. Vienna (During ball season)
3. Egypt
4. Turkey
5. India (Follow the Buddha's path)
6. Cambodia
I want to go everywhere! I thought I had a list but it keeps changing each time I read someone else's list.
till things calm down a little.
Places I dream of, with no concrete plans:
1) Mongolia
2) Peru (Machu Picchu and an Amazon cruise)
3) Brazil(Pantanal)
4) Moorish Spain
5) Namibia (Sand Dunes)
6) Moorea (Gorgeous landscape)
Actual, real-life plans include South Africa in April and more of Southern Africa later this year.
Plans on hold: Sri Lanka
Well, alot of my must see places are already seen, so my new list is...
1. Tibet (train one way)
2. African Safari..(not sure what countries yet but mixed with a beach holiday such as Mauritius, Seychelles
3. Turkey
4. Mexico interior/Guatemala
5. Australia & some island in the South Pacific
6. Pushkar Camel fair and more of India including Kashmir.
And that's not all, there are ton's more, but for number 7, Croatia!!
Where is Kamakura? Happy Travels!
I must concur that Dubrovnik and Croatia is a must see, I cant wait to go back
1. Peru (Going later this year)
2. China
3. Bali
4. Moscow
5. Safari in Tanzania
6. Baseball game in Japan
This is great fun to read and ponder. My "A list" keeps changing as I read about and hear about other places. And many of them will need to wait until I retire and the economy improves (actually it may come in the other order
). I would have to say right now the 6 would be:
1. Antarctica (also my last continent - but I've also been fascinated by it since my parents went in '82)
2. Greece and the Greek Isles
3. Ireland, Wales and back to Scotland (to visit my "roots")
4. Machu Picchu
5. Vietnam
6. Moscow and St. Petersburg
rhkkmk - I didn't realize you were going to South Africa this year in addition to going to Argentina. Where are you planning to go there? We LOVED South Africa - so far that trip still rank #1.
1. Tibet
2. Bhutan
3. Burma
3. Egypt
5. Macchu Picchu
6. South Africa
So many places, so little time, so little money. My top 6 are:
1. Peru including the Amazon in 2010 - in the planning stages.
2. Egypt - wishful thinking, wish there wasn't a war next door.
3. Greece - island hopping and scuba diving
4. Scandinavia - during the summer.
5. To see the animal migration in Africa whereever it's good. Already been to South Africa on safari.
6. Vietnam
Hum, Croatia and Bhutan sound interesting...
it's a big world out there! crossing off bangkok, siem reap & luang prabang (leaving saturday!) so here's my list:
1. south africa (planning stages for a 2010 trip to cape town, vic falls, botswana & namibia sand dunes)
2. antarctica
3. iceland
4. egypt
5. india
6. venice (or really, anywhere in italy)
Aside from choosing must see places, wouldn't it be incredible to just magically know the language of those places to get an even more in-depth experience!!!

Just to be able to chat it up with the locals would add so much dimension to a trip. Oh well, so much for wishful thinking. I'll keep working on my list anyhow!
Yes, language does add a very different dimension to the experience. I've done it, with local languages, for decades. Happy Travels!
Good thread. Six best ones I've done and six I still want to do...
Six best ones that I've done, in order:
1 - Italy
2 - Greece
3 - Africa
4 - Australia
5 - Egypt
6 - China
Six I still want to do:
1 - Antarctica
2 - Costa Rica
3 - Russia
4 - Vietnam
5 - India
6 - Alaska
I'm going to cheat here because we made up just such a list a couple of years ago and have been working our way down it. And I'm going to have seven!
At present we've done 6/7 which left to right and top to bottom have been:
Greenland
Iceland
Mongolia
Great Wall of China and Silk Road
Tierra del Fuego
SI New Zealand
And still to do:
Himalayas (Bhutan planned this autumn).
India (Taj, Ganges, Fatehpuhr Sikr)

Cambodia (Angkor)
Masai Mara
PNV, Rwanda
Venice
Sistine Chapel
(I am of course only listing places I have been to.)
Ooops I just reread the original thread and I see it was places I have NOT been to. Hmmmm
Pyramids
Amazon Rainforest
Stone Temples in Ethiopia
China (Terracota Soldiers, Forbidden City)
Vietnam (spot of the Mei Lai Massacre)
Auschwitz
I quite like travelling to places when festivals are on so I'd love to do:
1. The Ice Festival in Sapporo, Japan;
2. Timkat or Meskal in Ethiopia;
3. Syria, Lebanon and Jordan;
4. Cuba;
5. Oman in luxury (have to wait till I am a millionaire to do this one!)
6. Rail to Tibet.
I've done the Naadam Festival in Mongolia, which I adored; Carnival in Trinidad, which I didn't think was so flash; the Calgary Stampede and the quirky Naga Fireballs in Thailand - though didn't see any fireballs...
My top 6 wish list:
S. Africa
New Zealand
St. Petersberg
Rome
London
Croatia
My top 6 already visted in no particular order:
Iguazu Falls
Denali National Park
Machu Picchu
Cozumel/Palancar reef
Ireland (loved Killarney)
Jasper National Park/icefields parkway
Dear quimbymoy
If you're planning to visit South Africa in 2010 just remember that we're hosting the Soccer World Cup - all transport & accomm options will be at a premium, so book well ahead.
If you're a soccer fan then you will already know this!
Hmmm, my top 6????
1. Morocco
2. Pyramids
3. Seychelles
4. Greek Isles
5. Switzerland
6. Croatia
Places I've been, in no particular order, but would recommend:
1. Malawi - very poor but lovely around Lake Malawi
2. Victoria Falls and Zambia - the Falls are a must-see.
3. Namibia - Etosha Pan Game Park is magnificent, as is Swakopmund and the dunes are awesome! Waterberg Plateau is spectacular.
4. Scotland - my "roots" are there and I love it.
5. England - too expensive for the SA Rand, but I love it too (more "roots").
6. Ireland - the scenery is spectacular and the people so friendly - love that Irish accent.
7. Austria - heavenly.
8. Germany - some special places.
9. Prague - one of my all-time faves.
Just a thought for those of you who are travelling in Africa - be sure to take out medical travel insurance - I had to be air-lifted out of Zambia with a dodgy appendix - high drama, but ended well. The flight alone cost R122000-00 (USD 12000-00) in 2008, but was covered by the med insurance.
My 6 places would be.
Chiangrai
Ko Samet
Ko Phangan
Phuket
Ko Samui
Ko Lanta
Have travelled the world and no where like thailand.
I had a list and I knocked off one location in October which was Kenya.
Alaska (by ship first, then by land)
Adirondacks
Historic National Road (travel by truck and pull a camper)
China, Nepal, Denmark, Greenland
Not in any order, just gotton go there!
I'd never heard of the Historic National Road - thanks for the info. BTW, you do know about the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Natchez Trace Parkway, right?
No one mentions these but they should be considered:
Rice terraces in Phillipines- often called one of the wonders of the world. Also the chocolate hills and the smallest volcano in thew world.
Top 6 of the places I haven't been:
Trans Siberian Railway
Iraq, just not right now.
India
Bhutan
Africa, not sure where, it keeps changing
Vermont in the Winter, I have no idea why.
we drove the blue ridge parkway and it was spectacular (even in the rain ;0(
Now that I really think about it, I don't think that I've been anywhere that I've been unhappy with. It's all a great experience.
this thread has given me some new ideas too!
Love reading these lists. Been to some of the wish spots but haven't been to a lot more of them (if you like Asia for the exotic feel and chaos and don't mind touts, you'll probably love Morocco too).
If Santa was a travel agent, our wish list might be something like:
1) Kyrgyzstan - my daughter's heritage. It'd be fun to put it in the middle of a Silk Road kinda thing from Kashgar to Osh and onward, ending in Samarkand or Bukhara.
2) Vietnam
3) Mongolia
4) Ethiopia (Lalibala in particular)
5) Nepal + Varanasi
6) Peru & Bolivia
And um, Java + Bali. I couldn't decide. And Rajasthan or Kerala. Shoot...
Guenmai, Kamakura is in Japan, near Tokyo.
Far and away the number 1 must see place on my list, "the center of the world", is: Jerusalem.
But I have been there.
Of places I have not been to, in no particular order, and subject to change by tomorrow:
1) India
2) Russia
3) French Polynesia
4) Ayres Rock
5) Victoria Falls
6) Gettysburg
Thanks for the Kamakura explanation. Smiles. Happy Travels!
I love reading this forum. I do not get to travel as often as I wish, so I can do it vicariously, lol. I am curious. What is GTG? And someone posted about Afghanistan and Iraq. I don't know why, but it is a dream of mine to go to both places. Hopefully there will be a time it will be safe for us to go.
gtg=get together
These are meet-ups that Fodorites arrnage in various locations.
writealiving---- Afghanistan & Iraq..uum. I would like to spend some time in Kashmir (India), someday, when it's safe to go there.
... fine 'op', 'g' ...
... one continent to go for the Asian female crazed (just one, these days, mind you), BKK/SIN/SFO based business traveller: a certain peak, located a bit, 'down south' ... (hiya, 'S', at 'Camp Murdo' ... loved climbing with you in Alaska and Tibet) ...
... now, would suggest, it's not the 'place', but rather 'the journey' ... (as my dear sweet mum would say to me before rather extended mountaineering expeditions in Nepal, Tibet and one very special time 'high up' in a 'pre 9/11' Pakistan ...
... and, as for the 'journey', well here is one suggested programme: Singapore Girls, all the way to Bangkok, joyous evenings with some of the most gorgeous, gracious women in the world, followed by Thai Airways business class to Kathmandu, and yes, more surprisingly hot times with Nepalese women at the Yak and Yeti hotel, and then, depending upon budget, you either hike or chopper 'a bit', and then climb and climb, and ultimately - karma /weather permitting - pay your ultimate respects to the 7000 and 8000 metre goddesses who truly rule
our world. ... ((no 'bottled oxygen' for 'us' above 8000 metres ... ('your mileage may vary')) ...
... after 'coming down', well, more joyous massage treatments at the 'Y&Y', then TG J back to BKK, and then, yes, Thai 'masseuses' - Forever ... (and don't forget those Girls back to your 'real world'.) ...
... savour your 'must see places' ... (perhaps via SQ F/J) ...

This post is NOT the one called 'Six Places I Once Had Sex In Before I Got Married.'
That post has been removed.
>>>This post is NOT the one called 'Six Places I Once Had Sex In Before I Got Married<<<

just watch me now/

...
... classic 'd' ... (but you still need to turn it up a notch by flying, yes, Singapore Airlines F/J) ... those Girls won't bite ... (unless you ask them ... behind closed doors, to be sure) ...
... (and just between us: are you still skulking for a major book contract? (If no score yet, don't take it too hard: in my late teens/early 20's, harboured high hopes of landing a recording contract and becoming the next Dylan / Bowie / Young ... well, now, to please the SQ-forever wife, I monitor sqtalk, the sq board on flyertalk and do my best to entice those on fodor's into flying SIA ... (check out my work with the grandmother from Houston, Texas) ...
... as always, all the best to you 'd', and please know you are my current #3 on Fodor's, behind the the all-time sentimental 'bella' and yes, that HK lawyer ... (she recently came out with more praise for SQ's latest and greatest business class product ... she's lapping you, dude) ...
... and, as for 'madame lulu' at the Y&Y, well, never quite made her companionship, but as for some of her 80's and early 90's colleagues (and yes, a certain unnamed KTM 'retreat'), well, 'thanks for the memories' ...
macintosh
... and the inflight service even other airlines talk about ...
lol mac, you're my #3 too.
Or my #2, three. I'm not sure which.
As for the book contract, alas - Random House have not been on the phone, as yet. Stupid fools, unable to recognise real talent...
Now, back to the long list of every place in the world I haven't been to... Guenmai will get angry if we hijact this topic with our banter.
My six places are:
1. Jordan (and Egypt again) going in 2010
2. Uganda/Tanzania going in 2015
3. Turkey
4. China
5. Ethiopia
6. Poland
Places I been to that I have especially loved are Egypt and Algeria.
I also want to go to Europe but am saving that for when I am too old and decrepit to go to less developed countries.
I've been totally wowed by
Burma
Bhutan
Botswana
Bali
Northern & Southern India, especially Varanasi
Turkey
And I want to visit
Syria and Iran
Society and Cook Islands
Egypt
Argentina
Mali
Southern China
France, again, and again, and again
My list of what I want to see, but have not yet seen gets longer as I get older.
-My next couple of trips will be to:
Guatemala (leaving in 2 weeks)
Croatia
South Africa
Machu Pichu
Iguassu Falls
My favorite places I have been to are:
Turkey
Nepal
The Middle East-Egypt, Jordan and Israel
Thailand-the country, not just Bangkok
Italy-Venice is great, but there are so many other interesting and scenic places to see, and the food is wonderful.
So much to see, so little time to see it.
Ah, my list just keeps getting longer the more I travel...
In no particular order, it'd be
Chile
Australia (possibly 2010)
Nicaragua
Croatia
Syria
Jordan
And for those of you with Peru on the list: go, go, go. It's one of my favorite places in the world. (Iceland is one of the others. Go figure.)
Another day, another six more places to go:
1) Chantilly, France, for the Prix du Jockey Club (French Derby)
2) Melbourne, Australia, for the the Melbourne Cup
3) Cape Town
4) Cap d'Agde
5) Vermont, Kansas, N.Dakota, S.Dakota, Wyoming (maybe in June), Montana, Oregon, Alaska.
6) Aomori, Niigata, Wakayama, Mie, Tokushima, Kochi, and Okinawa, the prefectures of Japan that I have not been to yet. I have visited, or passed thru, the other 40 prefectures.
And 6 in America that I have NOT seen
- Grand Canyon
- Crazy Horse Memorial
- Churchill Downs (to see running of Kentucky Derby)
- Gettysburg
- Little Bighorn
- Any homes used on the Underground Railroad
AND THE WINNER IS....
As it is a slow day at work, I have compiled a list of the most popular "must see" places as voted for in this post.(minimum of 3 votes)
To be true to the title of the post, I have only included the first 6 mentioned in each post and have not included the second mentioned place in multi-destination listings ie..India/Sri-Lanka or Austalia/New Zealand.
Here go's..
With 3 votes each..
Greece(inc 1 vote for the Islands)
Sri-Lanka
Costa Rica
Nepal
Brazil
With 4 votes each...
Bali
Argentina
New Zealand(inc 1 vote specifically for the south island)
Tibet
St Petersburg
Syria
Turkey
Antartica
African Safari (there were also several votes for various African countries that a safari would be one of the main reasons to go there inc Tanzania(2 votes) but I choose not to include these in the overall total. If I had included these the total could jump to as much as 9 votes)
With 5 votes.
Croatia
Machu Picchu (another contentious one as these are stand alone votes and there were an additional 7 votes for Peru. I have counted Peru as 12 in total but as there were so many votes for MP as a stand alone desination,it is also included in it's own right)
With 6 votes...
Australia (this total includes 1 vote for Uluru and another for the Melbourne cup in Melbourne, and , as of the last time I checked they were a part of Australia, I have included them. Also, if I hadn't, Australia would be on the same voting line as New Zealand, and we cant have that can we)
Russia (this includes the 4 for St Petersburg and 2 for Moscow)
With 7 votes...
Bhutan
With 8 votes...
South Africa (included a vote for Cape Town)
On 9 votes...
Vietnam
China (includes a few "Great Wall" and "Silk road" votes but does not include any votes for Tibet...I hope this post will not be censored)
With 11 Votes...
India
With 12 votes..
Peru (including the 5 for Machu Picchu)
And the winner on 13 votes including 1 vote specifically for the Pyramids is........
Egypt.
I apologise for any counting inaccuracies and all the extra votes that have been cast since I surveyed this post but the line had to be drawn somewhere. Hopefully someone out there may find this of interest.
LOL! It is, indeed, a slow day. Smiles. Happy Travels!
I'm late, but I still want to play
I've been so fortunate to see a ton of places on my must visit list, but the ones below plague my daydreams on a constant basis.
India
Macchu Picchu trek + Peru
Madrid + Seville
Turkey
Jordan
Ireland
Loved the countdown to the winner. It actually made me hold my breath!
It's heartening to see so many votes for Bhutan and India, as I'm hopefully visiting both this year!
Other places on my personal "must see" list.
Sao Tome e Principe - this tiny country sounds beautiful, yet many people haven't heard of it and it gets very few tourists.
Easter Island - I have to see this!
Any pacific island paradise with white sand beaches, palm trees and thatched huts.
Namibia - especially the stunning dunes at Sossusvlei.
Iceland
Greenland
Places that have already wowed me:
Venice
Morocco (hard to choose just one place in this fascinating country).
.....Happy Travels!
