All of these questions should have been put on one thread.Either click on my name (I've written a lot about Singapore) or type,"Singapore" in the "Search" box above and a lot of info will pop up. Happy Travels!
Tanglin Mall over by the Four Seasons Hotel is supposedly the best place for kid related shopping.
The zoo, night safari, bird park on Singapore island, and the aquarium on Sentosa are all on our list for our stay there with our 9 year old.
Guessing that you have not done much travel, at least with a little one. Do make sure you do not overschedule things. Allow plenty of down time for naps, food, play, swimming. Best not to burn kids out on sightseeing and shopping, as it will teach them that travel isn't fun for them...instead, build in good fun time for the child. Maybe do a bit of sightseeing after breakfast, when everyone is fresh and happy. Break for lunch and a nap, and have an afternoon of park/playground, pool time rather than another go at sightseeing. Keep it all light, or no one will be very happy.
A backpack carrier is great for little ones, as they are up high enough to get a view of more than adults knees (that's their view in a stroller). The backpack is also great as you never have to worry about stairs or uneven pavement. Just get a top quality one, as the cheaper ones are not supportive for the adult or the child, and then no one is comfortable. Be sure to try it out in the store, with the child in it, for more than 2 minutes.
thanks kim....first proper holiday as a family so not sure what to expect...might be burnt out by then as we would just have spent 3 weeks in australia....
the mall sounds good and zoo(she seems to like animals) and swimming a must.
was just planning on use a stroller but if that doesnt work...will get a backpack carrier.
