Singapore Points of Interest - 2 nights
We'll be visiting Singapore for 3 days, 2 nights in August. What are some points of interest that are must sees? I've heard about the night safari tour and orchid gardens. Anything else? This is our first trip, so any tips/advice would be great!

Not a lot of area to tour, but take the cable car to Sentosa and the short boat trip back. If you have transportation, the Northeast part of the island has fish farms where they export exotic fish for hobbyists all over the world. the East Coast is where you go for pepper crab or chili crab. The Red House Rest. is the best by my estimation.

-Take a riverboat ride along the Singapore River and stop by boat Quay or Clarke Quay for some drinks or food.
-Definately go to East coast Seafood Center - best food in Singapore!
-visit the ethnic quarters: Little India, Arab St(Kampong Glam), and Chinatown.

I like the Museum of Asian Civilization (both locations) the Orchid Garden at the Botanical Gardens, a stop at Raffles Hotel and a visit to their small Museum (and lunch at Doc Cheng's). Many people like the zoo and the Jurong bird park.
Personally, you couldn't drag me to Sentosa. I've been to Singapore many times as it's one of the two gateways I use to other locales in Asia.
Ther are excellent hotels and wonderful food everywhere.

I concur on Sentosa. It might be fun for kids, but not worth it for adults. The Night Safari, on the other hand, is well worth a vist. I'd also recommend checking out some of the numerous historical landmarks, like Fort Canning Park, if you're interested in a leisurely walk through the city.
