Has anyone stayed at the Beaufort on Sentosa Island? Is it too far from the city or a nice retreat?
Has anyone stayed at the Raffles the Plaza? Is it worth it?
Thanks,
Monica

I haven't stayed in Beaufort on Sentosa but I stayed in Rasa Sentosa (the other big Hotel on Sentosa). It's pretty nice too. I guess it's a nice retreat but it's not that accessible to the city. The hotels provide shuttle buses to the bus stop across the Island (Singapore). You can take a bus/cab to the City. Shouldn't b a problem unless it's peak period. If you want a rest away from the bustling city life, Sentosa is a good place but if you want to enjoy the city life, try to stay in a hotel near Orchard Road. Hope you have a good trip!
I have stayed at beaufort once, but many years ago. A lovely resort, especially if you have a good facing. I would suggest you put at Beaufort for one night and enjoy Sentosa. Don't waste your time travelling to the city. There's quite a bit to do at Sentosa although I must say it's getting quieter now. The entire Sentosa island is linked by the monorail (free). After one night at Beaufort, check in to one of the hotels in the city and explore the city from there. Raffles the Plaza is a nice hotel. Not exactly in the heart of the city but close enough. And the train station is just next to it. Should cost in the region of USD150 -USD180.
Hi, Monica!
A very similar question to yours was asked on this forum about three weeks ago, and there was a great deal of discussion about which hotel was the one for a great experience. If I can find it, I will "top" it for you, so look just above this one.
I just recently stayed at Raffles The Plaza, and it was excellent! The rooms are brand new and the location is downtown and near a lot of resturaunts and shops. The Swisshotel-Stamford,is somehow related the the Raffles, and is right next door, they share a lobby. I would consider the the Swisshotel also. Enjoy!
