singapore for 5 hours (4th time)

Hi there - I have a 11 hour transit in Changi after a week in Jakarta and Malaysia for business - I really like the airport and don't have a problem hanging out at the lounge, fitness centre etc. BUT I feel like I shoul d make an effort to go into the city (I have been there at least 4 times and seen the "tourist" stuff). Any hidden gems or recent / new things to do / eat/ shop to tempt me? I like all the districts and the multicultural aspects of the place.

Thanks! Sylvia

I'm not sure what you would call the "tourist stuff." And I don't know what interest you.

As I understand, you have an 11 hour transit and expect you can spend about 5 hours in the city. I don't know what time of the day you'll be there, but here are some things I might do:

Visit the Orchid Garden in the Botanical Gardens

Visit the Museum of Asian Civilizations, either branch

Go to Dempsey Road and look at the arts and antiques for sale

And, of course, I'd eat! SIngapore has amazing food, as I'm sure you know from your many visits. There have been lots of posts here are places to eat in Singapore ranging from the very expensive to hawker centers.
