Singapore Changi Airport - do they accept Australian notes and coins?
Hi, we have a couple of hours in Changi airport on our way from Australia to London. If we have time, it's likely we'll buy something quick to eat and drink and maybe some duty free.
Does anyone know if they take Australian currency? I think they'll take notes - what about coins?
Thanks.
Kay

Notes yes - especially large ones. Maybe they accept $1 and $2 coins but I would n't try to use smaller stuff. You'll get your change in Singapore money and I'm sure the exchange rate isn't to your advantage. I'm assuming you just mean for a drink or snack rather than duty free purchases, etc, where you're probably better off using a credit card.

They accept notes but the exchange rate isn't so good! My tip would be to change AUD 20/30 as you go along, there are just so many exchange places in the transit area just change what you need as you go along.

Thanks, sounds like they probably don't take coins. Usually overseas countries don't, they only take notes.
With 1 and 2 dollar coins, you can suddenly have 10 dollars or more in your purse without realising it. We'll have to make sure we leave our coins at home, sounds like they won't be much use to us!
Thanks
