Will be in Singapore about nine hours after a long flight from Los Angeles and
was thinking of getting a hotel to wash up and rest a little before going to the cruise port.
Does anyone know the distance of the cruise port from the Changi Airport? I am debating whether it's worth just staying at the Crowne Hotel at Changi or to actually go to a hotel in the city since we would like to spend a few hours looking around and maybe grabbing a bite. If we stay by the airport don't know how close the hotel is from the airport terminals and just don't want to be dragging luggage around. Also, any good recommendations for chili crab? Thanks for your ideas -

Shanghai November Trip Report

Singapore is a tiny little place. Why bother to move around.
Any point a to point b in Singapore takes no more than 90 minutes.
It takes about 30 min. from Changi Airport to the cruise port at Maritime Square.
Chili crabs are served all over in town, from restaurants to hawker centers to food courts.
The famous/infamous Newton circus at Clemencau Ave has places for chili crabs, so does the 24 hour place Lau Pa Sat on Raffle Quay.
Looking a fancy place for chili crabs, try Jumbo Seafood Gallery Restaurant on Boat Quay near Clarke Quay MRT station.
Jumbo Seafood has several outlets in town.
Most cruises depart from the Cruise Center at Harbourfront, which is on the other side of downtown from the airport. So, it would actually make sense to stay somewhere downtown, which would put you halfway to the cruise center. Assuming you're arriving late at night, you might stay some place like the Merchant Court, which is in an area that remains lively well into the evening.
East coast hawker centre (about 10 ins from Changi) is FAB for chilli crab
