Siem Reap / Phnom Penh - Accomodation Recommedations?
Hi, does anyone have recommendations for places they've stayed at and enjoyed in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh?
I'm going to be traveling alone (as a woman in my mid-20s), so don't need anything extravagant, just reasonably priced.
I'm looking at places recommended by Lonely Planet, but would probably defer to your recommendations (I trust forums more than guidebooks...)
Thanks!!

WELL, you won't have to choose, becauseboth lonely Planet and I recommend 7 Candles on Wat Bo Road. Very Clean, Safe, has AC and fans, and is only $20 a night. Free wifi and bikes to cruise around town, plus very nice tuk tuk drivers station themselves there. Lots of good restaurants nearby. The owners are great, as are most guests. I'm a big fan, as you can tell!

In Phnom Penh after checking out quite a few guesthouses we settled on Sunday Guest House

Clean aircon rooms with a very helpful staff who arranged onward transportation for us. Reasonable location in a quiet street with lots of decent restaurants close by.

I stayed at the Arboretum guest house in my last visit to Siem Reap. Very friendly western owners and helpful local staff. From memory it was $18 a night but could have been $15. Within easy walking distance to pub street. Only downside was that there was no pool.

Watch out for your reviews on LP and TA both sides have gone commercial many for profit touts info dated lots of fake reviews. There are a few here but except for Venice Argentina and Egypt mods are pretty good here about not allowing them to tout.
