Siem Reap accommodation and travel.

We are planing on taking the bus from Seim Reap to Phnom Penh. I believe there are several bus companies that run that route. Any recommendations? What is the trip like generally? Or is it a bad idea, should we be taking the plane?

Regarding accommodations, has anyone stayed at the Bloom Garden Guesthouse in Siem Reap? We have one recommendation but would like to hear more opinions.

The Mekong Express is probably the best busline and the most expensive. Their buses are a/c, have nice comfortable seats with a good pitch and have a toilet on board. It takes 5-6 hrs with one stop for a break. Cost around $14. Leaves at 7:30, 8:30 and 12:30.

I don't know the guesthouse personally but I would suggest staying within walking distance of pub street. However, I've just done a google search and it gets very good reviews and looks nice. My only question would be 'does it have a pool?'. IMO this is very important in Siem Reap and for that sort of money a lot do.

Enjoy your trip. I can't wait to go back.
