We are going to Bangkok for a week in April. We cannot decide on which above hotel to stay in or is there an alternative hotel costing between US$50-$70( We like to stay near a sky train & near Siam Square ). Any ideas anyone??

We stayed at the Siam Intercontinental in January. It's a little old but still pretty nice. The breakfast buffet was really good, the staff was nice and the location is excellent. I don't know anything about Le Meridien.

If you want to stay near Siam Square, then Siam Intercontinental is the one. It's a nice hotel but a bit old. Le Meridien is not too far from Siam Square. It's easy access to Sky train and it's newer.

Have you considered Novotel? It's in Siam Square..also a nice hotel.--my 2 cents.

i stayed in the le meredien in December. Very nice. The concierge was very helpful. Always wrote down the place we were going in thai and jotted down the license of the taxi. - no problems - I pretty much always stay in Le Meredien whereever i go if there is one - Very good hotel chain. - and there sky train is right there
