First of all I want to thank all of you for all your helpful information.
I usually dont' do reports because they seem kind of boring along side all the other great ones.
My husband & I lft SFO on Sept 26th Delta Business. Great flight. We had a layover in Seoul & stayed at the Premier Songo at Incheon. I had arranged a pickup since we were getting in at 10PM. I can't begin to tell you how wonderful it is to see your name on a playcard.
The flight the next day wasn't till after 4PM & The Korean Air flight segment was coach. I spoke to the guy at ticket counter he called his supervisor & they got us into lounge-what service is that.
We got into KL at 10PM again-ouch. WE had a timeshare at The Golden Palm Tree REsort. I had arranged for a pickup there as well. Going through customs there was an awful stanstill. I was so worried our ride would not be there-In fact they were beginning to wonder.
Our unit was a 2 bedroom unit over the water on the Malaca Straights. No kitchen but we ordered breakfast on our patio most mornings. This was my husbands & my 30th anniversary trip & my birthday so everywhere we went we got a cake or wine. I had read so kind of iffy reviews on TA so I was not sure what to expect. I think they upped their customer service. If you have never slept over the water it is quite an experience. We went on several of their tours and ate at all their restaurants. We liked the Chineese one abover the center lobby/pool area the best. Our guides & drivers were wonderful. There were beds to lay on under an awning so you wern't directly in sun and the pool was an infinity. I hated to see the week end.
The resort arranged for our transportation to our next time share. This was the Palace of the Golden Horses outside of KL. A very old fancy hotel. I had arranged Food Tours of Malaysia for a day trip-our guide driver/Charles was wonderful.
Thanks to your help I got a good price at the E&O Hotel in Penang for 2 nights. I never wanted to leave there. The first night when we came back from dinner the bathtup was filled with bubbles, there was a heart shape in rose pettles & candles around tub and more rose pettles. Happy 30th anniversary.
Back to the Palace of Golden Horses-I had requested 2 beds and they didn't have them when we checked in-but when we got back from Penang they gave us a VIP suite for our last 2 nights. WOW
Oh my the first half of our holiday has flown by!! I had been so worried about the weight allowance flying from different countried-we had our trusty scale-drank some of the weight but they were great-letting us check 3 bags.
Now we fly to Phuket. We had bought at duty free some of our liquid refreshment to replace what we drank. Going through customs the guy pulled us aside & said we had to Pay. ?? What?? He thought we had 6 bottles & it would cost us 1000Batt OK I said |My husband is going what-I don't want to argue. Then he reminds me 1 item was a musical instrument for my grandson & one box of liquor had 2 glasses in it. We showed to customs offical & he reluctantly gave us 500Batt back. I don't like to make waves.
OUr first night was a night inbeween timshares so I used my free night with Marriott-they had E-mailed me & said for 3500Batt would I like a pool villa-YES!!!!!!!! It was pure bliss. This was the Renissance . A bottle of wine was there for us. Thank you Marriott.
Now we move to our timeshare. The Laguna Holiday Club. I upgrades to a 2 bedroom just for the room. I thought our guide that we had in Northern Thailand was going to join us & folks we're on a 30 year anniversary not our honeymoon. I slept like a baby the whole week. I had tours planned for 3 of our days. All wonderful. James Bond Island-The Beach. Just outside our resort area I found a massage place & got 12$ massages-only in Thailand. Actually I did find the same in Malaysia-at a Thai massage parlor.
Last 4 nights were in Singapore-not enough time here. We sayed at the Conrad Centenial & paid the extra to be on executive level-worth every penny. The first night there they were having a Hawkers fundraiser right outside our hotel. Since we were starving we first got a hamburger & split it & then stood in line for satay. We were in line 3 hours!!! Gotta be good. Well they skys opened up. We were like drowned rats-did we get out of line-NO!! Some women put their umbrellas over us. We had so much fun talking to people.By the time we got our satay & went to hotel I'm surprized they let us in!!! We were going to go to ex lounge for a cocktail/that was out.
Next day we get our 2 day pass & try to cram as much into our days as we can. My husband had been fighting a cold & the drenching really knocked him over-2 days later was my birthday & we had reservations to eat at the Chineese at Raffles-my husband could hardly eat-that is no like him. He's coughing like crazy-I'm telling him to stay away from me I don't want to get sick. The Conrad was wonderful-Cake for my birthday & our last night a bottle of wine.
Flight home 6AM. I lay flat in Buz & sleep most of the way.
Did I get sick------YES when I got home.
This was 4 weeks of fun good food wonderful people & pretty good weather.
Hope I did't bore you too much
