Shanghai to Kuala Lumpur
Has anyone flown on China Eastern Airlines from Shanghai to Kuala Lumpur (about 5 hours.)? We will be flying between these cities in July. If we went on Cathy Pacific Airlines, we would have to change in Hong Kong (8 hours). and it is much more expensive.
Has anyone taken the train from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore? How was it?

I haven't flown China Eastern from Shanghai to KL, but I have flown that airline. They are a perfectly acceptable airline with a good safety record.
I haven't taken the train between Singapore and KL, though friends have. It was fine, but they though the scenery rather boring. The luxury bus is actually faster, and a flight is even faster - and Air Asia is very cheap.

Long distance buses in Malaysia are very comfortable, I took the bus from Singapore to Melaka and then points north. And I just wound up on a very comfortable bus from Butterworth to Hat Yai because the train was canceled!

Is Air Asia a better airline to fly than China Eastern? The reviews on China Eastern aren't very good--lots of rescheduling and long waits.
About how far is the airport in Shanghai from the city? Has anyone stayed at the Shanghai Hilton?
Thanks for your help!
