Serviced Apartment in Mumbai

I'm off to Mumbai, initially for a month or six weeks. This will be followed by another month in early 2005 and then a seven month spell from mid 2005.

I've been there before and have stayed at the Taj Lands End, a nice hotel and convenient for work. However, I don't really want to spend a month in a hotel, does anyone know of any serviced apartments that cater for stays of around a month?

Taj group was planning to open Bombay's first service apt in Colaba near the Taj Hotel - check on the Taj website, was to be called Wellington Mews. You could also look at the Intercontinental on Marine Drive which I hear is an all suites hotel. However, if Taj Lands End was convenient for you for work I assume you work in the suburbs and South Bombay properties I mentioned may be a long commute.

Hobbes's comment nothwithstanding, there has been a Marriott Executive Apartments open in Mumbai for at leat the last 3 years if not longer. It is attached to the Renaissance hotel in the Lake Powai area. I have not seen the apartments, but the hotel and overall complex re very nice. Take a look at Marriott.com

Cicerone is absolutely right Tangata, Marriott has service apts in Powai. Having lived in Mumbai I often make the mistake of forgetting Powai is part of Bombay coz it is quite a trek and associated primarily with the IIT engineering college there! If yoour work is in the suburbs you could consider staying at Powai, if it is in soith Mumbai think you will find it a bit far.

Thanks to you both for your help. I think that I am probably working too far out for the Taj apartments. I'm not quite sure how convenient the Powai area would be, but I'll check out the Marriott when I arrive.

The new Grand Hyatt Mumbai also has serviced apartments as part of its campus. See http://www.mumbai.grand.hyatt.com
