Seoul visit...what to see in rest of country? Or visit China?

Jump to last reply

I am planning a trip to Seoul to visit a relative who is living there. I would have about two weeks to spend overseas, not including travel time. I am wondering if I should plan to stay in Korea..which other cities/regions are of interest to a first time visitor who does not speak the language and will be traveling solo?

OR..I might spend 4-5 days in Seoul and then fly to another Asian city..Beijing or Shanghai are probable candidates. I have traveled a fair bit in SE Asia and HK and Japan but have never been to China or to Korea. Will be traveling from NYC. Late spring seems like a good time, weather wise; is that true? I welcome any and all opinions and ideas. Thanks so much!
