Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong
Original Thailand trip isn't working out but we now have flights into Seoul and out of Taiwan. Would love to hit up 3 locations. First time in Seoul and Taipei but 2nd time to HKG. First question is where is a more better place to spend time NYE, Taipei or HKG? We typically spend it in Europe and love counting down in a crowd before venturing to a club/dancing. I also know that Seoul will be very cold, so I don't think I want to spend more than 2-4 days there but we love the food! Thus far, I am thinking of the following itinerary:
Dec 24, arrive in Seoul at 4pm
Dec 25,26,27 - Seoul
Dec 28,29,30 - Taipei
Dec 31, Jan 1,2,3 - HKG (NYE here)
Jan 4, 7pm flight home.
or
Dec 24, arrive in Seoul at 4pm
Dec 25,26,27,28 - Seoul
Dec 29,30,31 Jan 1 - Taipei (NYE here)
Jan 2,3 - HKG
Jan 4, 7pm flight home.
or
Dec 24, arrive in Seoul at 4pm
Dec 25,26 - Seoul
Dec 27,28,29,30 - Taipei
Dec 31, Jan 1,2,3 - HKG (NYE here)
Jan 4, 7pm flight home.
Any suggestions would be welcome!

Of these, I have only been to Seoul, and only during May, so I'm not sure I can be much use, but for what its worth, I would have found just 2 days there frustrating, as there is a lot to see -- including places indoors. But it really depends on your interests! Have you seen the sections on Seoul in my trip report? I was there at both the start and end of my trip to South Korea:

Hope that helps!

I have been to all three cities, although HK was a very long time ago. We spent 4-5 days in Seoul a couple of years ago & like you really loved the food. We liked Seoul a lot but really loved Taipei! A place we are already planing to return to. There is a huge amount to see and do and the food is amazing ( home to the famous Din Tai Fung dim sum chain). Even with the language barriers, the people are so amazingly friendly and welcoming - something we weren't expecting. I imagine the NYE celebrations would centred on Taipei 101 which looks spectacular. When we visited the building we watched a video of the fireworks launched from the building itself - fantastic!
We spent 4 days in Taipei and ran out of time for the things we wanted to see. Those that did fit in are covered in the Taiwan section of our blog @ https://accidentalnomads.com there is also some stuff on our time in Seoul.
HK would also be fantastic on NYE and is possibly the place to choose if dancing and clubbing are high up on your want list.

Only been to Seoul. I wouldn't go with option three as it doesn't give you much time in Seoul and then it is during the Christmas holiday which is celebrated there so many businesses and restaurants will be closed.
