Seoul and my impressions...

Jump to last reply

Leaving to go back to the States tom. morning and just wanted to let you know Seoul is a great city. The USD is so strong that the city is very inexpensive. Great pastries (sp?) but everyone is into instant coffee. You can find decent (re:steamed as in Paris or most anyplace else) coffee but will have to look for it. The pastries are either very good or very bad.
Metro (tube) system is great. Same as everyother city you've ever used the tube. Cost is 600 Won per trip. That is cheap!
Skip the American/Western food (and there is plenty; KFC, Bennigans, McDonald's,etc) and eat the local. It taste good, is healthy, and is cheap.
People are friendly and helpful and very proud (so it helps to be respectful and learn the bowing thing).
All for now. Great city. Only here 10 days, look forward to coming back and getting fat. M.
