Cut this article out to add to my pile to take with me in two weeks-there have been lots of articles on Shanghai lately, it's great. I'm even considering adding on days there.
I haven't read the whole article but here it is: http://www.concierge.com/cntraveler/articles/13153

Monica
PS: 7 days and counting!
Monica
Monica -- Thanks from bring the article over, I'll learn some day to do it.
Count down now, you'll be there in no time. Happy travels!
Shanghainese,

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to my trip and I know my cousin is just as excited.
I've been so busy I haven't read all of the article. I'll have to bring it with me on the plan to read. Today Tony and I are having a 20th anniversary party. We prepared the food yesterday (Italian dinner) so we don't have to cook today.
4 days and counting!!
Monica
Monica: Have a wonderful trip! We will be thinking of you!
Monica -- Now who's Tony and the 20th anniversary party?!
Shanghai was the highlight of our visit to China.
Even though we consider ourselves experienced travellers, we felt that China on our own was beyond us. Big mistake !!
However, by the time we reached Shanghai, we had decided to completely abandon the group and do our own thing.
We were at the Swan Hotel, some distance from the river, but decided we would walk to the Bund.
Three or four hours of walking, and countless encounters with locals trying Soooo hard to help us it was really very memorable.
We too, I think, found a secret Shanghai.
Shanghai.........certainly one of our most memorable travel experiences.
Have a great time Monica, moremiles and others that are heading that way.
Oh and don't forget the parks.......any spare time you have, go find a park........just absolutely fabulous !
Shanghainese,

My husband. Today (8th) is our 20th wedding anniversary.
Leigh, I plan to visit a few parks. The Ritan park isn't too far from my hotel.
Monica
Congratulations Monica !!! '88 was a real good year ! We also celebrated our 20th this past May.
Looking forward to your report to glean from a future China trip we have planned.
Have a wonderful time !!!
Thank you bmttokyo!

I'll try to post on Fodors while I'm gone, but will also try to post on my blog page: http://monicapileggi.blogspot.com You can check it out once in a while. I tried to blog on my last trip and I just didn't give myself the time to sit at an internet cafe to send messages. Hopefully this time!
