Not sure about accomodations. Go to www.phuket.com. They have a link to the Similans.

I know that during certain times of the year, they do overnight trips from Phuket. They do not go just before and during the rainy season.
My husband and I just returned from a trip to Thailand where we did about four days of scuba diving in Phi Phi. We choose to do that because the other prefered dive sites are far enough away from phuket that the only reasonable way to do them is from a live aboard boat. We had various reasons not to do a live aboard - it is more expensive depending what level of accomodation you want, the time frame can be more restrictive, and it is a more serious dive program than we were interested in (most operations are scheduled for about 4-5 dives a day). Anyway, I'm glad we chose Phi Phi - the island is itself a bit of a scene but the diving was great and we spent all of our time on the dive boats. The deal is that there are many dive operations in the main town and in the evenings you wander from shop to shop finding out what site they are diving the next day. We dove with Island divers one day and Viking divers for three days. All the folks we dove with were very nice and the dives were beautiful. The best was Hin Muang (Red Rock) which is an hour and a half speedboat ride from Phi Phi. There is a nice wreck dive(sunken ferry) and some beautiful sites off Phi Phi Don. There were some other sites like Ko Ha we wanted to go to but the dive shops wanted a 4-5 person minimum to book it and we were only two We found sites enough for four days of diving (each day is a double dive) but for more than that I'd probably recommend looking into a live aboard.

The allmoon parties are actually the full moon parties on Koh Phan Ghan, and they occur on the night of the full moon. The island can be reached from Koh Samui.

I have not been to these parties, but from what I understand, it is sex and drugs and rock & roll until well after daybreak for yourself and 5000 of your closest friends. Drugs everywhere, and the police know it. Stay away from the drugs, and it would be a wild time, but you dont want to visit the jails in Thailand.
