Saturday or Sunday for guided tour not too far from Chiang Mai?

Jump to last reply

We will be in Chiang Mai in November only for 2 full days (a Saturday and Sunday) and Monday morning, a short half day, after a late Friday arrival. Due to the short time, I am considering exploring on our own the city on Saturday or Sunday and Monday morning and having a guide/car for 1 day to explore places of interest that are not too far but are not within walking distance. We want to return on the day w. the guide such that we catch the Saturday or Sunday market, allowing enough time for it.

Which day (Saturday or Sunday) would you recommend for exploring on our own vs. with a guide? Thanks win advance.

P.S. We are not interested in elephants, the Golden Triangle or a trip to any place which would keep us on the road for most of the time.
