Samui weather

Jump to last reply

I am planning to travel to Samui the first week of December and seem to read/find a lot of conflicting information regarding the monsoon weather at that time of year. I realize no one has a crystal ball but has someone recently traveled there at that time of year? My main concern is that I have heard that the seas are quite rough and beaches extra dirty due to more garbage washing up. Also, we had hoped to take a day trip to Anthong Marine Park but apparently it is closed until the end of December? Is it better to go to the one of the islands on the Andaman Sea side and if so what recommendations do people have? We like an island that is not overly developed, has good beaches for walking, maybe some areas for day hikes and accommodations in the $30 to $40 U.S, price range. Thanks
