Ryoken recommendation pls either in Tokyo;Hiroshima;Kyoto?
Hello friends. We are taking our first trip to Japan 19th Oct - 2nd Nov 2014 incl.
We are flying into Tokyo x 4 nights; then planning the following overnights, but not booked into accommodation yet:-
Hiroshima x 2 nights (to include trip to Miyajima); Kyoto x 6 nights; Tokyo x 3 nights.
We want to do a Ryoken experience - happy to travel overnight somewhere to do it - considered Takayama but its a heck of a return train trip for 1 night.
**Any more convenient Ryoken experiences you could suggest please?**
I look forward to posting my trip report on return, I've really enjoyed the trip reports posted by fellow travellers. Thank you in anticipation of your help and suggestions.
Kind Regards Elaine and John, Ireland.

What is your budget? Prices can be anywhere from ¥10,000 to ¥700,000 and up, per person, per night.
At the link that kja gave above there is an Advanced Search link.
The first option is Region. Use Chugoku region for Hiroshima, Kansai for Kyoto, and Kanto for Tokyo.
Between Kyoto and Tokyo you would travel through Chubu region, Gifu and Aichi prefectures.

If you're looking for a top-notch ryokan (with prices to match), Hiiragiya in Kyoto is terrific. Beautiful property hidden away in central Kyoto, with an amazing dinner served in your room. I had a ground-floor room with walk-out garden and private bath, and it was a memorable experience.

I've told you a million times not to exaggerate, mrwunrfl

Maybe ten thousand times but not a million, I think. I exaggerated by only one order of magnitude, should be:
Prices can be anywhere from ¥10,000 to ¥70,000+
Hiragiya is the place:
