reviews wanted for Sinorama tour company

I'm looking for reviews from people who have gone on tours to China or other destinations with Sinorama. Their rates are great. If you have any other recommendations I would appreciate it.

I have heard through two independent sources that their 21 day tour last month was great and that the accommodations were as good as 4-5 star, food was always good. As I am a woman traveling alone I think I'd prefer a tour this time but would still like to hear more input from others who have gone to China or Indo China on a tour.

Hi
There seems to be more than one Sinorama company. If you are referring to the one in Toronto (Kennedy Road), I am booked for the 21+1 day tour next year (Sep 2012).I booked on the recommendation of my friend's mom who took the tour in September. She and her new husband loved it. They said the accommodation was definitely 5-star, and the food was wonderful. They said if you are not a big souvenir purchaser you can almost go cash-free, it really is all included as advertised. They were a little surprised about the length of each day (12 or more hours); I am not going to China to lay around so I want to pack the most into my day.

The office runs information sessions on Sundays. If you are anywhere close to it, you should go. They are very clear and honest about their tours. It was reassuring to see the bricks and mortar agency. Its beside Pacific Mall which is interesting to visit if you haven't already, and above a Chinese bakery called Brothers(you must try the custard buns!). We drove in from Peterborough for the info session and met another couple all the way from London Ontario there. There were about 45 people in attendance!

Hubby and I have traveled all over Europe independently so taking a tour is going to be an adjustment but we're looking forward to something completely different.

If that's your preference, go with it! But as one of several women who have travelled solo to China and had wonderful experiences, I thought I'd mention that you don't NEED to go by tour if you don't want to. Click on my name for a VERY long trip report; the replies include several from other women who have posted on this board about their independent solo trips to Japan. thursdaysd, nywoman, ekscrunchy, and Iowa_Redhead come to mind; and marya spent a fair amount of time on her own if I recall correctly. My apologies to all of you who inspired me who I am forgetting at the moment!

We travelled to China with Sinorama last year and were very pleased with our trip. I cannot say the same for the India trip with Sinorama. It is subcontracted out to an Indian tour company and I cannot recommend the experience. It was not the seamlessly well organized trip that we had expected from our visit to China. India is a difficult country to visit whichever way you attempt it, but Sinorama did not put our safety or comfort first in the planning of the itinerary. I can send you more information if you require it. Do not believe Sinorama's advertising touting this as a first class and deluxe trip. It most certainly is not.
