Arriving at 5:30pm on a Saturday, October 13th, can anyone walk me through the process and what I can expect and be prepared for from the time I deplane?
Looking to take the Maglev from PVG and then a taxi to the Kerry Hotel from Longyang Station.
Much obliged...bdj

Easy. The airport is well signed - just follow the signs to the Maglev. Then exit the station and it is only about 5 minutes by taxi. On the other hand, it's only 20 - 25 minutes airport to the Kerry (in my two experiences) by taxi and you don't have to walk so far with bags. Taxi cost is cheap but I forget the exact amount - cheap enough so it didn't stick in my mind. But either way. Easy. The Kerry is a very nice hotel, with the club level being very good, much better than regular floors. Lounge offerings excellent.
Thanks, Kim.
A few more questions if you will. I'll just be carrying one case, is the walk to the Maglev at PVG that much longer than hailing a taxi? I would like to take the Maglev for the experience and will likely take a taxi back to PVG.
I am assuming that it is well signed at PVG to the taxi stands...?
Is it also well signed at Longyang to the taxi stand? Is there a certain type of taxi I should hire or, avoid?
Once off the plane how long can I expect it to be before I get to the Maglev at PVG?
My first time in China, so what hoops will I have to jump through (luggage, immigration, etc.) before setting off to the Maglev?
Much obliged...bdj
I didn't have a problem with taxis just from the taxi line. Immigration lines were long both times we went through but still we were at the hotel within 90 minutes of landing. I don't think the walk is much farther to Maglev than to taxis. Taxis wait at Longyang too. Follow the other people. Have the hotel in Chinese. Carry the phone number. Once the driver didn't know the hotel but a phone call solved it.
