We are arriving at Changi Int. airport at 12:30 am and we need to get to either Malacca (Melaka) or Kuala Lumpur (KL) in Malaysia--
Are there buses, trains, or taxis, anything that opperates that late at night? Are MRT's still open? Do we need to go to Johor Bahru first, and then transfer? Approx. how much would it cost to hire a taxi service? We are mainly concerned with not being able to find any transportation to Malaysia at that hour. We'd be willing to leave as late as 2:00 am. Do you have any suggestions--any thoughts, advice would be greatly appreciated. --Thank you in advance--

Hi! There is no public transport(incl MRT) in or out of Singapore after midnite. Same story in JB.You can hire a taxi tho but it'll cost you more than the plane.(> S$400)No point going to JB this time of night as the taxi drivers there would skin you alive seeing your desperation. You can also rent a car and drive (big h'way with good signs all the way)from CHangi to KL no prob. The earliest flight to KL is 630am arriving 730am(SQ102. If you leave at 2am by taxi you arrive KL at 630am so you only save 1 hour.There is an airport hotel inside the terminal which charge S$30/hour. There are many buses/ trains to Melaka /KL after 6am. Why the urgency to leave so early? Why not go for supper at Geylang which never sleeps before departing S'pore?When are you arriving?
If I were you, I'd stay over night in the terminal hotel. I think we paid about US$40 for a 6 hour block. Then fly to KL in the morning if that is where you are headed, or take the bus or train to Malacca.
i too would plan to stay overnite...we took a bus from the Novotel Hotel (malay air bus) to the airport in JB...its cheap and very direct and we flew to kl from there....much cheaper than flying from singapore...you might want to check into staying at the novotel and then leaving in the am...check malay airlines for their flights which are very cheap....maybe $100 cheaper than from singapore...
in the middle of the bridge between the two countries you must leave the bus and go through customs and reboard the bus and then proceed to the airport...can't remember how long the ride is but think less than one hour depending on customs and bridge traffic..
