Philippines in 10 days

Jump to last reply

We would love to go to Palawan and surf at Siargao and also see Banaue. Is this possible in 10 days? Flying into Manila .. 3 days in Banaue, 2 days in Siargao , and finish up with 4 days in Palawan/El Nido?

Dates December 23rd out of US ... landing in Manila on the 24th.. Christmas in Banaue, surf a couple days in Siargao, Palawan exploring for 3 and then back to Manila to fly home on Jan 1st.

Thank you!

Any suggestions are extremely appreciated. We definitely want to either hike a volcano or the rice terraces, surf a couple days, and then explore Palawan area.

Hello, @sarahsmiles112! Yes, 10 days is possible if you will cover these places. However, these places in your itinerary are far from each other and the travel time between them will consume your time, shortening your stay at these places.

Here's how you can get to each place:

    a. Manila → Banaue
There's no direct flight from Manila to Banaue. You can ride a plane from Manila to Cauayan Airport (nearest airport to Banaue) served by Cebu Pacific. Travel time is approx. 1 hour. To reach Banaue from Cauayan you would have to take a three-hour bus or van ride south to Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya. Then you will have to ride a jeep or bus and take another three hours to Banaue. You can have the same route back to Manila. Travelling by land would take you approximately 9 hours which I think is not advisable since you will be staying only for a day.

    b. Manila → Siargao
There's no direct flight from Manila to Siargao. Instead, you can ride a plane from Manila to Cebu via Cebu Pacific. The fastest and most convenient way to get to Siargao is to take a flight from Cebu City to Sayak Airport at Del Carmen, Siargao. Travel time is approx. 1 hour. When you reach Siargao, you may ride tricycles or habal-habal and it will take you on surfing spots.

    c. Siargao → Palawan
There's no direct flight from Siargao to Palawan. Instead, you can ride a plane back to Cebu (from Siargao). Travel time is approx. 2 hours with stop at Cebu Pacific. There's a direct flight from Puerto Princesa going back to Manila.

*People are always mislead between 'Siargao' and 'Surigao'. They are totally different places. Also, I suggest putting together an itinerary and take into consideration the travel times. Travelling in the Philippines depends largely on traffic and weather so DO NOT plan your stops too closely! I hope you find the information helpful! :)
