Philippines Help Please!
Hello all,
I have signed up to work on a disaster relief project in Cebu for 3 weeks. I will have weekends off so will be able to do some travelling/day trips in this time. I then have 12 days independent travel time, I fly home from Manila.
I would really like to see the Chocolate Fields in Bohol - could this be done within a day?
During my 12 days independent travel time I was thinking of going from Cebu to Palawan, El Nido then to Manila - I would love to see the rice fields then fly home!
Not sure if I am making the best use of my time and how to travel to each place. Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you

Hi there:
For your weekend trips I’d recommend to concentrate on Cebu Island itself. We spent a few months in the Philippines and liked it a lot.
Moalboal is rather close to Cebu city and actually worth to stay longer, but also ok for a weekend. It is very good for diving and snorkeling. Please see pictures and have more information here: http://konniandmatt.blogspot.ca/2014...-moalboal.html
Bohol and the Chocolate Hills are probably easier to visit, if you plan a little more time than a weekend. There is much more to see and Matt enjoyed staying there for more than a week. See our travel notes and pictures about it: http://konniandmatt.blogspot.ca/2014...014-bohol.html
One island was especially beautiful and interesting as well. South of Cebu (easy to reach with a ferry from Cebu city, or by plane) is the little island Siquijor, said to be the island of the witches: http://konniandmatt.blogspot.ca/2014...-siquijor.html It is not so touristy, rather undeveloped, but nice.
For your time frame is probably flying the best way to move from A to B.
For us, sometimes, less is more, and we take more time to stay in one place. It all depends on what you want.
I wish you a great experience in the Philippines, and a nice holiday too.
Happy travels
Cheers, Konni

Hi,
It might be troublesome for you to do Cebu-El Nido, since only one airline is flying on El Nido (From Manila). You might have flights from Cebu to Puerto Princessa, but take note you need to take a bus or van for about 7 hours to go to El Nido. If your time is limited you might want to transfer in Manila and fly directly to El Nido.
Enjoy your stay in the PH!
Cheers!
