Hi. The hotel has been recently renovated and the rooms are nice (and affordable). Location also very good. Recommended!
Aarti
Pan-Pacific is a central location in Singapore and one of its premiere hotels(high-class). Just a walking distance to shopping centers including Suntec City(Carrefour inside)which provide free shuttle bus rides to a certain train(MRT) station .
Only the weather is very hot, please provide yourselves with cool clothes and also, soft shoes because u have to walk a lot.
I wouldn't say that Pan Pac is 'central' as it is quite a distance from Orchard Road where the majority of the Shopping Centres are.
The area around Pan Pac is reclaimed land so they're at the southern tip of the CBD district. There are a few major Buildings here: Suntec City which is the convention centre with Carrefour being the major tenant. Marina Square is another large shopping complex with restaurants and the like. A lesser frequented-one would be Millenia Walk which touts tourists more that locals.
A better location to stay would be the Raffles City area (about 500 meters up) where you have the Subway (Cityhall MRT) just underneath the whole thing.) You can get almost anywhere in Singapore from here as it is an interchange for trains. There is a new underground link called Citylink which links Raffles City and the Marina area but the walk back and forth between the two will take its toll sooner than later.
Raffles City has many buses that lead to Orchard Road (shopping) and Clark Quay and Boat Quay (Food). Next to Raffles City is also CHIJMES which is a remodelled School/Church which has very nice food with ambience.
was that 2 or 3 cents? =]
