Paging Mealea - Report on Bhutan?
Mealea, I am thinking of going to Bhutan in November so am doing some research on it. I've read all of the threads on Bhutan that come up in a Fodor's search, but haven't found your trip report. Can you help?
Many thanks!

Kathie - I know you pay pretty close attention but I am pretty sure that Mealea said that she would post a report but never did. Apparently the Gpanda penalty only applies to visitors to Thailand...

Yes, I'm here! Uh-oh, I have yet to post that Bhutan trip report I promised. I had forgotten about that... My trip was around this time last year and was a fantastic experience. I haven't posted anyting recently, but I'm happy to know people are still interested in my Bhutan trip report. That will definitely motivate me to finish it soon.
By the way, I live in Tokyo and the first Bhutanese restaurant just opened here. That's so cool. I can't wait to try it! I've become very interested in all things related to Bhutan.
Trip report coming soon! It's going to be a pretty long one.

Hi Melea,
It was great meeting you last year. We had such a great trip. Thanks for all your help. Here's another voice saying "post that trip report", but I know how thorough you are so it would take a lot of work, so let me revise and just say "when ypu post the report, a bunch if us will be happy."
best wishes.

We too are thinking of Bhutan, but in mid to late May, with our kids, 20 and 22. Will the weather be ok then? Also, as I am older and my knees are lousy, will there still be plenty to see and do IF we can't do long hikes? Need to know your thoughts on this. Would love to see your trip report Mealea!

Dear Bobandvee,
Mid May is still good but not the best because the rainny season begins from end of May and gets heavy by June.Would advise you April or atleast begining of May.The spring is usually the best time to visit Bhutan (march, April and May). This is the time when the sky is clear, the weather is comfortable and has wild Magnolias and Rhododendron blooming over the road passes as you drive.....sure there are things one can see and enjoy even while driving in the car. There are plenty of nice easy walk one can do including the easy stroll in the market that will be exciting for you.
In May the daytime max.temp. range from 21°C to 27°C and minimum from 10°C to 14°C.
Will be happy to help with Bhutan info.
