Paddy fields in Vietnam
We are the 2 women in our 50's and still trying to put our trip together to Vietnam and Cambodia in January -February for 3 weeks . I would love to photograph the Paddy fields . We are going treking in North Vietnam however I am wondering if we visit South Vietnam will I be able to view the Paddy Fields as I would love to photograph them.

You will be able to view the Paddy fields in the south but it will be the dry season and not the best time as the rice will be in the early stages of growth. We were in the delta at that time this year and saw plenty of green paddies although the rice was no that high. Not sure about the north, but I think the best time around Ha Giang is September when the terraces are at their best

We walked through rice paddy areas in April in the north of Vietnam - (it's not really correct to say North Vietnam and South Vietnam any more ). We did a trip out of Hanoi to My Chau - rice paddies all over .

For Jan and Feb, the weather in the North is pretty cold (for Vietnamese people is tooooooo cold) and no farming work (rice) in the region. Central of Vietnam and South still got rice field. But....it is not the best time to come for photography. Good time for travelers as nice chil temperature
