One night in Bangkok convenient to DMK
We'll arrive at DMK 17.25 on a Saturday and depart the following morning at 10.35.
Looking for a place to crash and recover from around 15 hours in transit, but I know we'll be wired on arrival and hungry.
Can you recommend any accomodation options based on the following
Budget - $100 ish
Location - within say 15 mins by taxi or train
Local area - restaurants or at least street food options and a 7/11 within walking distance
Amenities - pool, balcony, fridge, safe.
Not averse to a serviced apartment.

Yes, cheap at A$89 for the night in question. Sorry if not clear before, but I figure we might have enough energy to walk around a local neighbourhood for a bit, and was hoping to find somewhere with eating potential.
From the airport we should be in room by 18.30, that gives us time to freshen up and then head out for an hour or two.
Any ideas for an area that might suit ?

I would head into Bangkok proper, rather than staying by the airport, it "should" only be 30mins or so from DMK and that way you open up waaaay more choices on hotels and get better options for dinner etc.
I have stayed at Emprium suites in Bangkok before which had a fantastic location and had all those things you listed ( as I don't know when you are going I am not sure if $100 is doable. For there) But there are lots of options. It isn't the target 15 minutes though but if it were me ( and it isn't
) I would spend those extra minutes going into Bangkok.

I've transited Bangkok several times before, and been in a similar situation.
Providing your arrival time in DMK isn't delayed, then I'd go into Bangkok too. But that's a risk you'll have to weigh up.
Don't book in advance, have a couple of options in Bangkok, and close to the airport, and then take it as it comes.
As for actual options, I wouldn't want to be paying too much for such a short time if I wasn't going to be using the amenities I was paying for.

If you want to walk around, I'd go into Bangkok. I'd avoid the Victory Monument area (I don't like the area, and if there are any protests going on, that is where they will be). I like the riverside area - look at Chatrium, as they may be in your price range. Emporium is lovely, but I've never seen it offered as low as $100. Walk-up prices are very likely to be higher to much higher than book in advance.

Thanks to all for your responses. It's late October, so I have time to search for options.
Kathie, we had lunch at the Chatrium in Bangkok last February. The food and service was great. I would certainly consider staying there if we were spending more time in Bangkok, but for one night only, I'm really trying to find something closer to DMK.
