The UI and the output display has changed for Hyperedia, the best site for foreigners to find Japanese train schedules,
Until this weekend, the UI for entering data has been mid-1990s state-of-the-art, or maybe a little earlier. The new UI leapfrogs ahead by at least 6 or 8 years.
The output display doesn't seem to fare as well. The good news is that you can have up to 10 choices, instead of 5. The very bad news is that there doesn't seem to be a summary of your choices.
Let the moaning and angst begin!
Oh Noes!! Hyperedia is changing and the Sky is falling!!

Does this mean that the train schedules I've printed out for my upcoming trip in 2 weeks is no longer valid? Or does this just affect searching for schedules?
No Statia your schedules are ok.
Don, yes we who resist change will find it a little difficult but am in Tokyo now looking to go to Kyoto tomorrow for some shopping on my last day of a 14 pass but if you know the system it is a little easier.
I feel sorry for the first time users and travelers as it is a little difficult to understand the site if you don't know what is happening or know how and what to do.
Aloha!
Wow! I guess if LDP can lose power, Hypedia can be updated too!
Don, I'm much more confident in your abilities to navigate this new system than say panda's ability to re-book onto the proper flight...

Chickie, I am threatened by change in any form, and the New Hyperdian will almost surely cause me to spend the weekend in a remote corner of a dark room, whimpering.
Ok, don't panic, luddites.

Look below the new search form and click the link to "Classic Version".
If that is too hard then bookmark* this:

*or just do more typing
Rizzuto, this is not the reaction I'd expect from a guy who drove cab in Boston during a period of his life. Mrwunrful, I hope this works, and thanks for the advice.
(Don, anti-anxiety drugs may be necessary, but not prior to trying the solution mrwunrful outlines above.)
Best wishes to all!

Thank you, bc!! I took heart from your encouraging words, and I think I can deal with the new format.
I think I can, I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...
