I had a conversation with a friend of mine who has used Bangkok as a starting point for many Asian trips and he told me about having his shoes stolen from outside of a Wat he visited.
Not that touring Bangkok would be a day for the favorite of your Carrie Bradshaw shoe collection, but can you just wear Rainbows or Tevas or something and throw them in your bag where wearing shoes is inappropriate, or is this a regular kind of challenge? If so, is it helpful to tip to make sure you can leave wearing the same shoes you arrived in?
Thanks!

There is no one watching your shoes...you just put them on any shelves or leave them on the steps outside the wat. You can also put them in your bag and carry them. No one will care, as long as you are shoeless in the wat!
Thanks! Just curious...
