Cathay Pacific first class from Chicago to Hong Kong -nothing to say but FABULOUS. I took sleeping pill and slept about 11 hours. Food Wonderful, staff was as good as Singapore Air. Shangri-La BMW picked us up at airport. We are in a deluxe king with balconey in the Krungthep wing of the Shangri-La. I love a balconey. we watch the river traffic, and see the the life of the city . We just got here at 2am this morning, but managed to get up and have a super breakfast. We then went to the Chi Spa for steam and Masage(really nice).
Now at Bangkok Shangri-La

Sounds like a lovely beginning! Hope everything continues in that same style.
Sounds great! Wish I was there.
could you ask the hotel what they might know about the taskin skytrain station closing for renovations.. thanks
anxious to read more..have fun..
It's still open Bob. Very wishy washy answers from the BTS people when pressed about the statement released about the station's closing.
sounds perhaps like one of those thai stories that gets stretched and contorted
Yes it is still open. I will check with management. Yesterday we went to royal palace by the nice express boats. Had drinks at the State Tower 64th floor it was spectacular. then went down stairs to Breeze. The food and the service were both wonderful. Both were surely not for the budget minded. Our bill for a singapore sling and Chevis and water was 1100 baht. And I hate to tell you how much dinner was. More later we are on our way to the Jim Thompson house. DH is rushing me! later
thanks... glad you are having fun... beer is the only affordable drink in thailand...
hope you ate at the JT house..
