new visa fees for Indonesia as of mid-July, 2014

Jump to last reply

I applied for a visa for Indonesia a week ago sending my paperwork to the NY consulate.

I received a telephone call from them telling me that the fee had increased to $50. I was amazed that they did not just send it all back. I have now sent them an additional $10 for our 2 visas.

Rules require that you also send financial info and arriving and departing ticket info. I sent neither. During the phone call, they asked for the arrival/departure tickets, so I forwarded that. No mention of financial info...

As a heads up the VOA fee has also increased to $35.

Some might ask why get a visa ahead of time, especially as it costs more???
Our experience is that entering at the Bali airport you can encounter very long lines for VOA, and practically no line at the regular visa line. Last time we were 2nd in line.
