I thought I better start a new topic, rather than keep tacking on to the HDLP post. I just heard about this new hotel, and went to check it out on Saturday. The Cabochon is small - just eight rooms - and it's tucked away in a small soi on Sukhumvit. It's about a five minute walk from Promphong Skytrain station, and maybe a little longer from Thonglor. The rooms are quite nice, and the rates are inclusive of wi-fi, breakfast and mini-bar. I probably wouldn't recommend it for first-timers, but old Bangkok hands might like the quite location that's still handy to all the restaurants nearby.
The opening rate of 4,000 Baht/night seems reasonable, and I suspect you might be able to negotiate something better for a longer stay right now. You can have a look at their web site for more details.

Looks very nice..thanks for the info.
Hi
Seems a bit pricey to me... especially for a new hotel promotion. You can check out agoda or asia rooms for really good deals on rooms. Also you can maybe find this hotel in there the prices on agoda are always cheaper than walk in prices
$129/night for a fancy new hotel seems pricey?? For a hostel perhaps...
Hmmm.... a first time poster comes here to tells us a new hotel is pricey?
