We flew home from there just last month. It is absolutely gorgeous, but not much was set up in the Duty Free area, so don't wait until the airport to pick up any last minute souvenirs. It was also about midnight when we were there. There was a slight problem with mosquitoes in the very lovely waiting areas by the gates once you've gone through all the check-in processes.

Thanks for the update. After reading reviews of the chaos at the old airport, I was hoping that things would move more smoothly and quickly. Are there restaurants once you have checked through security?

I live in Bombay and don't call it Mumbai 
Havent seen the new airport but would like to know if it now has travellators (moving walkways) for both, arrivals and departures? Otherwise, the LONG distances one has to walk (with hand baggage) are virtually crippling.
