Need Suggestions for Two Week Bali\Lombok Honeymoon...

Jump to last reply

I am getting married this fall, and will be spending my honeymoon in Bali and Lombok for two weeks - late October through early November.

My fiance and I want to experience as much of the Balinese culture as possible, but our primary goal is a relaxing, beautiful and memorable trip, not necessarily one where we stress ourselves out trying to squeeze everything into two weeks. We'd like to do more day trips from one base, rather than relocating from one lodging to another every day. But we also don't want to miss out on anything “must see” or restrict ourselves if it makes sense to travel to more than a few areas.

We'll be coming from the United States, so we'll have a long flight getting there and heading home, and as such we wanted to start our trip off relaxing for a couple days on the beach, then spend the middle part of our trip seeing sights, hiking, shopping possibly, and then end the trip with more time relaxing on the beach in a more remote and low key setting.

So we wanted to ask some advice on where people thought three good locations would be. We were thinking Ubud for the middle part of the trip, and possibly one of the Gili Islands for the last part of the trip, but weren't sure where to start at or if there were better recommendations. We are definitely looking for locations that are on the quieter side regarding nightlife, but we also are looking to be completely off the beaten path. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can provide for an awesome honeymoon!
