NEED HELP!! SARS and travel advise

A Center for Disease Ctrl in the USA advisory says not to go to Singapore. The WHO does not have Singapore on its list of countries one should avoid travelling too. So its confusing to get a true idea of what the situtaion is.
I was to travel to Singapore on 1-7th May 2003, but I am thinking of cancelling my trip and just going to japan instead. Can anyone who has been there in the last month or so give me a true conception of how safe it is, since there have been more cases reported as of 10th April 2003.
