Hey!
i'm arriving in Koh phi phi in a few days.
I previously booked the Phi Phi Village resort, but now i'm having doubts about staying there.
I would like to stay closer to the village... so that we can go have coffee, and watch the people.. fell the town more.
Any suggestion for a nice charming little place? don't need luxury.. think $100 a night?
i really appreciate any help!
thank you!

The word charming is not what one thinks of when they talk about the main village in Phi Phi. If you want charming, you're not really going to find any of that on Phi Phi. PPIV is luxurious and posh and definitely quiet compared to the main village. But the village itself is filled to them brim with backpackers, parties and touts. Main reason we always stay outside the village.
Guess it all depends on what you're looking for.
That's quite a price jump from PPIV to $100/night. If price matters most, then, yes, do consider something in the village. That wouldn't be an issue there.
thank you @filmwill
.
Price is not what matters... just would like to have a place closer to the village..
any suggestions?
again, I would recommend against "feeling the town" unless you enjoy being immersed in copious amounts of loud tourists and partying--think daytona beach.
for me, i think when one goes to such a remote place, peace and quiet (and a short 20 minute boat ride to the craziness) should be the order of the day. but maybe that's just me.
unfortunately i couldn't recommend a place near the village since I couldn't imagine ever staying near there -- but awhile ago there was a thread on here and i believe someone recommended Mama Beach.
