Howdy folks...So, the time is nearing for your...return to Bangkok...trip. I know you'll have a blast. If you happen to go over to River City Mall...next to the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel...and happen to be on the third floor, could you look in the window of the Grand Antique store and see if the three, orange-robed monks are still in the window? There are two sets. One set is at the same store, but at the annex store across from the main store...in a corner window. It's NOT that group of monks. It's the group that's in the window of the main store unless they've moved them around. My Buddha/2 monks came out of the set that originally had 6 pieces, but I bought three pieces. They were the three-foot tall ones. You should check out this store and the mall anyhow, since you were asking about antiques. If you go in and see them, could you ask the price? I'm curious what they'll tell you. I had to bargain fiercely. I was told the remaining ones would be sold for 85,000 baht. I paid the same price for my three, but if I had bought all 6,at the same time, then I had talked them down to 120,000 baht. But, 120,000 baht wasn't in the budget. Maybe in August, if they're still there, I can bargain fiercely again and pick up the other three. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they've already been sold. Have a wonderful, wonderful trip and if you have time, keep in touch with us all while in BK. I'm curious to know your opinion of Basil, Sonie's, and Tamarind cafe. Take care. Happy Travels!
